HELLO LOVELY READERS ~ THE GAME OF HOMES BLOG IS HERE!

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to finally start my own blog. I’ve been wanting to do this for a really long time but haven’t previously had enough free time to be able to devote to a blog.

I’m a 30 something mum of two who loves talking and analysing all things home, money, and finance. I have a mortgage of £168,000 and a secured loan of around £20,000. I don’t have any other debts, and I have paid off my student loans and all my store cards and credit card debts. I have a BSC (Hons) Degree, an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting, qualified AAT Technician status, an NVQ in Management and I’ve worked within the finance sector since 1999.

I love planning and organising absolutely anything and everything but often find myself with a severe case of analysis paralysis so I’m really hoping that writing this blog will give me that extra last push from planning to action by holding me accountable and also enable me to help others along the way by sharing what I know now and what I’ll learn along this journey.

The house we’re living in was built in the 1960’s and hasn’t been updated in almost 20 years so it’s crying out for some much-needed TLC and rejuvenation. This is a project that I am super excited to start planning and doing and I’ll be looking to keep everything within as tight a budget as I can – so any hints or tips will be more than welcome!

I have a firm belief that whoever controls your finances controls your life – and this person should be you! I really hope that this blog will help educate and empower you to take control of your own money and finances, I’ll be sharing everything I can find around savings information, extra income opportunities, budgeting tips, and running a house and home within a budget.
